As a member of the post production team, you are responsible for bringing stories to life using a variety of production assets for different platforms.

By assembling footage into a finished project that matches the directors vision, you perform all editorial edit tasks needed. You also take a creative position in looking past the script and helping to influence the edit style and shot sequencing.

You constantly work to improve your story telling best practices by understanding the variety of platforms used and audiences reached (ie, digital boards, social platforms, broadcast, etc).

In addition to the editorial edits, you look to bring a layer of perfectionism to the work by bringing additional online capabilities to the finish products (colour, audio mix and/or design, etc)


  • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
  • Take briefs to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
  • Review shooting script and raw material to create a short decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
  • Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
  • Create rough and fine cuts
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
  • Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
  • Work effectively with other team members to support the production of final products
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance each project
  • Server organization
  • Project back-up and archiving


  • You MUST have a reel/portfolio to present to be considered for this role
  • A post-secondary education in film studies, cinematography or related field
  • Broadcast experience an asset
  • 3-5 years experience in video editing
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Davinci Resolve, etc)
  • Creative and able to conceive new ideas to conquer barriers
  • Customer centric focus with a natural ability to over deliver
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity, etc.
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • Strong organizational skill, must be able to independently manage time and set priorities
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate and efficient
  • Display strategic thinking and analytic skills
  • Demonstrated organizational/planning, analytical and communication skills
  • Must be reliable and willing to put in extra time as required to meet project deadlines
  • Positive working relationships built throughout the organization with a professional attitude, willing to complete all aspects of work as required
  • Startup (all-hands-on-deck) ‘I bust my butt because I love it’ approach
